Experience
I am a special education teacher in Fairfax County Public Schools who works with young children with autism in the primary grades. I am looking for a part-time tutoring opportunity during the summer. Although much of my teaching experience has been with students with special needs, particularly autism, developmental disorders, cognitive disorders and ADHD, my educational training through George Mason was for students who access the general education curriculum (students with Learning Disabilities, Emotional Disabilities, Mild Cognitive Disabilities and Aspergers). My particular areas of teaching expertise include letter and number recognition, beginning phonics, early math skills, beginning writing and early reading. I am a very patient and dedicated teacher and have successfully taught my students to read, write and build math skills.
