Experience
With undergraduate degrees in both international relations and psychology, and a master's degree in statistics, I have spent many years in school. I have learned that feedback is important to both the student and the tutor. When a student provides me with feedback I can adjust my teaching methods to his or her learning style. When I provide feedback to the student, he or she gains a deeper understanding of the subject at hand. This give and take between the two of us also shows the student there is more to learning than just memorization of facts and theories. My experience includes private tutoring as well as being a teaching assistant on both middle and high school levels. I can provide tutoring in all areas of math, from general math on up through graduate level statistics and multivariable calculus. I have also tutored a few different social science classes. I enjoy tutoring and the feeling I get when a student succeeds. I am working towards a PhD in statistics, and I hope to be able to continue helping others feel competent in the different math subjects. When I have a bit of free time, I like to run or play guitar. I would say that I spend my time reading, but it doesn't seem to happen. I do, however, have an intent to read someday.
