I received bachelor's degrees in History and Government from the University of Virginia. As a high school student, I primarily took IB classes, and am very familiar with their structure and requirements. As a tutor, I have worked mostly with elementary school students. However, I have had success with students all the way through high school.I tutor a wide variety of courses, including American history, European history, AP comparative government and politics, AP United States history, geography, IB geography, IB global politics, IB history, IB philosophy, IB psychology, IB social and cultural anthropology, AP human geography, AP US government and politics, social studies, social sciences, writing, English, writing and editing essays, and world history. I am also able to work with students over the summer to help them retain the skills they learned the previous year. Additionally, I help students who are preparing for upcoming standardized tests such as the SAT or ACT.I break down the more difficult concepts within a subject and make them more accessible to students. I show them where the connections are and teach them how to build on their own knowledge base.
