Experience
I work for a company called The Learning Turtle: http://thelearningturtle.com/. We specialize in the Structure of Intellect, a theory of intelligence that evaluates 90 cognitive abilities and has found that they are malleable. It’s pretty amazing! I often use the SOI modules in tandem with content work, according to the student’s needs. I have seven years of experience in education, in the classroom and one-on-one. I primarily tutor upper grade reading and writing. I also teach multi-subject elementary, and have recently taught french. In college, I assistant taught a religion course for two years; when I was in high school, I tutored math and french; and when I was in 6th grade, I tutored several younger students in the flute! I also work as a an editor. Over the last five years, I’ve worked on a range of projects from preschool storybooks and urban fantasy to MA dissertations in theology and PhD systems management and economics papers. I’ve published a number of essays and poems online (some under my maiden name, Robinson).
