Experience
Currently an undergraduate in computer science at the Old Dominion University, I am an experienced tutor with a preference for math. I spent three years at a high school working as an instructional assistant, during which I had to turn complex concepts into easily understood steps. Outside of college, I have taken multiple courses in computer science and math, allowing me to develop tools to support others in learning. I work with students in a one-to-one setting, allowing me to focus entirely on individual needs. I analyze the student's knowledge on the subject at hand and work with them to build on their knowledge. Each session is custom-tailored with their needs and goals in mind. We work together to correct any misunderstandings that they may have before progressing to the next part. I am skilled in tutoring students in technology, college and high school-level algebra, differential equations, discrete math, and many other areas. When working together with each student, I move at their individual pace and am happy to explain a concept until they grasp it fully. I love to play with my new puppy and fix cell phones when I'm not tutoring. I've begun getting into learning about sociology and how our minds work as well.
